New Makia website up! To celebrate it we’ll throw you a story that we personally find somewhat amusing. At the same time we ask for your help.

It had been a tough week. Jesse, the designer behind Makia, was relaxing at our very own underground club in Helsinki, enjoying a stripper evening with his friends a Friday night. He drank a few shots while watching one of the strippers pull approx 100 meters of silk ribbon out of her valley of pleasures.  A dozen of flying ping pong balls and a couple of drinks later it was 8 o’clock in the morning and Jesse was still in the club, enjoying the final minutes of the after parties. Suddenly he decided to go behind the locked backdoor in the empty stairway. To do what, we still don’t know. Without shoes, and without anyone awake enough to hear him knocking and kicking the door. It was freezing and snowing outside. The Makia Fall / Winter 2010 catalogue shooting were about to begin in the studios anytime now, so Jesse called the photographer and asked for a pair of shoes and a lift to the studios. He got a pair of new shoes, went to the studio, did the shootings like a real pro and lived happily ever after. Good times. We all need to laugh a bit more to that life episode. So…

…the old shoes are still missing. And we need them back! It’s our first shoe-proto. They are dirty, worn-out and smell bad. But we want them anyway back. They’re somewhere in Europe, close to us. Find them and you will be rewarded with some fresh out of the bag Makia gear.
