We’re not a surf brand, but we sure would like to be one. Just got back to Melbourne from Torquay, Victoria, and let us tell you, that place is all surf industry on steroids. This tiny little village on The Great Ocean Road is the birthplace of surf industry giants Quiksilver and Rip Curl, plus some lesser known brands like Strapper Surfboards. On the Surf Coast Highway you will find flagship stores of every surf/skate/snow giant on this planet. The stores are so big, that it makes Hossegor in Napoleon land seem like a little brand kiosk. This is every surfer industry stall warts true mecca. They even give their ambitious youth a chance to study surf! Thank you everyone we met from Quiky, Strapper, Billabong and Rip Curl for the hospitality, and the constructive chats we had during the stay. We found some good homes for MAKIA in the land of OZ, so be sure to check out if your local dealer will have some of our goodies in stock next winter.
Also a big thank you Lincoln Eather, Empire Avenue for your patience in the water with us. The beaches of Bells, Torquay and Jan Juc are for all you surfers out there the place to visit; MAKIA highly recommends it! Last but not least, thank you mighty Geelong Cats for an exciting footy game, although it didn’t go the way we hoped. Next stop : Know Show / Vancouver.
Despite all this, Makia won’t be doing wetsuits for next summer. Sorry.
