Red Eye Parka?

Monday, October 26th, 2009

Look! Santa came early! And this year ‘he’ seems to be a ‘she’. Or then this is all just F*****G UNREAL! At least the red Raglan Parka is. For now. Thank you Sofi for getting up on the pool table in the middle of a fully packed redneck pub last friday. We’re lucky to have such sexy foxes as friends.

P.s Hold your horses, the Red Raglan Parka Jacket will hit stores, but not until next August. That’s year 2010. We know. It’s a big ben bummer.

Two man combo (photographer and marketing) rehearsing in Salo, Finland and Tampere over the weekend for the up and coming photo session world tour.

Two man combo (photographer and marketing) rehearsing in Salo, Finland and Tampere over the weekend for the up and coming photos session world tour.
At night you have to know the signs. In the club. By the time Makia head of marketing fixes his gaze on your ear while talking to you, he has stopped mental recording. Everything from this point on is like a blank sheet of paper. Looking like a puppy his sentences become very shot but cryptic. He becomes a sort of poet. He will loose his phone and blame it on you. He will loose his hotel booking codes and wake you up to gain access to the hotel room.
REC will be pressed again around 5:30 am as he starts looking for his phone one more time. But it is gone. He is addicted to it. Thats why he has two phones. For times like these. He has thought of everything.
All in all it was a good trip. Pic turned out ok. You will see it later. Marketing took care of that it all went de facto in comparison to the circumstances we will be facing in the challenges that lay ahed. Thank you Totti.
Ps. If you are the sax player we met on the train on the way to Salo (the one that was supposed to perform at the Makia lounge in Boardexpo next weekend, please call us. Your phone number was in the phone Totti lost, while not recording. Two man combo (photographer and marketing) rehearsing in Salo, Finland and Tampere over the weekend for the up and coming photos session world tour.  Two man combo (photographer and marketing) rehearsing in Salo, Finland and Tampere over the weekend for the up and coming photos session world tour.

Train Ride Jazz.

Monday, October 26th, 2009

We took together with our photo crew a quick hike out of Helsinki last saturday and met this young saxophonist on the train. We wanted to test drive our photo equipment before the upcoming world tour, so decided to do a short trip out of town. Had some good chit chats with this fellow traveler, and so to keep up this fresh initiated friendship we changed phone numbers. Well, as always, the trip was longer and tougher than planed and now there is some equipment MIA. Such as our sales managers phone surprise surprise. And now we don’t have, our new favorite Jazz Mattazz’es contacts. So, if you, Mr. Saxophone on the train, read this blog, please email us at : contact@makiaclothing.com.

This image was inspired by the brief visit to Lauttasaari, the close-by satellite town of Helsinki. Jaakko Veijola, The art director of BOB Helsinki got so inspired by the photographers fully grown beard that he stayed up all night to paint this awesome portrait. We dare you all to grow a full beard now that it is still possible. Soon you have to shave anyway to get on your strict mo-growing pace.

Makia Raglan Parka

The mighty MAKIA Raglan Parka Jacket. Proved by our favorite neighbors at Sherpa Basecamp that it can be used in many different ways. And by using it “the different way” , in so called “Nanook” style, you can also design a print t-shirt during this certain foolish act. Yes, there was a Inuit man lost in China in our last post. Some people just take stuff too serious.

Buy Makia Raglan Whatever Jacket online from Zoovillage or Junkyard.
